Iron Buddha

Tie Guan Yin - Iron Goddess of Mercy - is one of China's great classical oolongs, produced in Anxi county in Fujian province. Our version is the traditional roasted style, which gives the cup a deeper, warmer character than the green, unroasted versions now common in export markets: toasty and slightly nutty on first pour, with a long floral finish and a natural sweetness that builds across successive brews. The same leaves can be steeped four or five times, each infusion shifting subtly in character. An oolong of genuine depth, best experienced slowly.
