Terms and Conditions

Canton x The British Blanket Company Instagram Giveaway (the "Promotion")

By entering the Promotion, entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

1. The Promoter

1. The Promoter is Canton, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 06247334, whose registered office is at Canton, 4th Floor 14 Museum Place, Cardiff, Wales, CF10 3BH. ("Canton Tea", "we", "us").

2. The Promotion is run in collaboration with [The Blanket Shop LTD] ("The British Blanket Company"), which is supplying part of the prize.

3. This Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc. By entering, entrants release Instagram and Meta from all liability in connection with the Promotion. Any questions, comments or complaints about the Promotion must be directed to the Promoter, not to Instagram.

2. Who can enter

1. The Promotion is open to residents of the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, excluding the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man) aged 18 or over at the time of entry.

2. Entrants must have a public Instagram account at the time of entry and at the time of the draw, so that their entry can be verified.

3. Employees of Canton Tea and The British Blanket Company, their immediate families, and anyone else professionally connected with the Promotion are not eligible to enter.

4. The Promoter may ask the winner for proof of age, identity and UK residency, and may disqualify anyone who cannot provide it.

3. Promotion period

1. The Promotion opens when the launch post is published on the Canton Tea Instagram account (@cantontea) on Tuesday 27 October 2026 and closes at 23:59 (UK time) on Thursday 5 November 2026 (the "Promotion Period").

2. Entries received after the close of the Promotion Period will not be counted.

4. How to enter

1. To enter, during the Promotion Period:

1. follow both @cantontea and @britishblankets on Instagram;

2. like the Promotion launch post (the collaboration post shared by both accounts); and

3. tag at least one friend in a comment on the launch post.

2. No purchase is necessary. Entry is free, apart from any data or internet costs of using Instagram.

3. Entry is via Instagram only. Entries cannot be made by email, post, direct message or any other method.

4. Only one entry per person will be counted, however many comments or friends are tagged. Tagging more friends does not increase the chance of winning.

5. Tagged friends are not entered automatically; they must complete the entry steps themselves.

6. Entries made through multiple or fake accounts, bots, automated software, or any other means the Promoter reasonably considers unfair will be disqualified.

7. Comments that are offensive, unlawful, or that tag accounts that are clearly not real people (such as brand or spam accounts) may be removed and treated as invalid.

5. The prize

1. There is one prize. The winner will receive:

1. one 250g bag of English Breakfast loose-leaf tea from Canton Tea.

2. one Clifton Herringbone Blanket in Spiced Cider (Large) from The British Blanket Company valued at £100 RRP; and

3. One handmade Japanese teaware set

The total approximate retail value of the prize is £244.99.

2. The prize is non-transferable and non-refundable. No cash or other alternative is available.

3. If any part of the prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond the Promoter's control, the Promoter may substitute a prize of equal or greater value.

4. The prize will be delivered free of charge to a UK mainland or Northern Ireland address. Canton Tea and The British Blanket Company will each dispatch their part of the prize, aiming to do so within 5 working days of the winner accepting it.

6. Winner selection

1. The winner will be chosen at random from all valid entries on Friday 6 November 2026, using an independent random selection method.

2. Before the prize is confirmed, the Promoter will check that the selected entrant met all of the entry requirements in section 4 and is eligible under section 2.

3. The Promoter's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into about the draw.

7. Notifying and claiming the prize

1. The winner will be notified by Instagram direct message on Friday 6 November 2026, sent only from the official @cantontea account.

2. We will never ask entrants to pay a fee, click a link to claim, or share bank or card details. Please ignore and report any account that contacts you claiming you have won from any other handle.

3. The winner must reply within 48 hours of notification, confirming acceptance of the prize and providing a UK delivery address.

4. If the winner does not reply within 48 hours, cannot be contacted, is ineligible, or declines the prize, the prize will be forfeited and a replacement winner will be drawn at random from the remaining valid entries on the same terms.

8. Winner publicity and announcement

1. With the winner's prior consent, the Promoter will announce the winner's first name and county on Instagram Stories on or around Tuesday 10 November 2026. The winner will not be required to take part in any other publicity.

2. If the winner does not consent to their name being published, the Promoter may still be required to provide the winner's name and county to anyone who asks for them, in line with the CAP Code, or to the Advertising Standards Authority on request. Anyone wishing to request the winner's details may write to the Promoter at the address in section 1 within one month of the close of the Promotion.

9. Your personal data

1. Canton Tea is the data controller for personal data collected in this Promotion. We will use entrants' Instagram usernames and public comments only to run the Promotion.

2. We will collect the winner's name, delivery address and contact details only to verify eligibility, deliver the prize and meet our legal obligations. We will share the winner's name and delivery address with The British Blanket Company solely so it can dispatch its part of the prize.

3. Entering the Promotion does not sign you up to any marketing from Canton Tea or The British Blanket Company.

4. Personal data will be handled in line with UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) and our privacy policy at https://cantontea.com/pages/privacy-policy. The winner's details will be deleted within [3] months of the prize being delivered, unless we need to keep them for longer by law.

10. General

1. The Promoter reserves the right to cancel, suspend or amend the Promotion or these terms where circumstances beyond its reasonable control make this unavoidable. Any changes will be published on this page and on the Promoter's Instagram account.

2. The Promoter is not responsible for entries that are not received or not visible because of technical faults, Instagram outages, account privacy settings, or comments filtered or hidden by Instagram.

3. Nothing in these terms limits the Promoter's liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded by law. Otherwise, the Promoter is not liable for any loss or damage arising from entry to the Promotion or use of the prize, except where caused by its negligence or breach of these terms.

4. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Entrants resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland may also bring proceedings in their local courts.
