flavour
This outstanding oolong is made from two hand-plucked leaves and a bud. The leaves are then withered slowly in the sun – and rolled, rested, heated and rolled again. Once dried, they sorted by hand to ensure the very highest quality tea. The result is an outstanding oolong-style tea, which yields surprising and delicious notes of malt and cooked fruit.
origin
Satemwa Tea Estates was founded in 1923, and is the last family-owned and run tea estate in Malawi. About 20 years ago, Alexander Kay, a third generation tea farmer, started reviving the production of artisan teas in Malawi. Since then, they have produced some exceptional and award-winning single estate teas – and put Malawi on the map as a centre for craftsmanship and speciality, non-traditional teas.
