Green Tea: teabags

canton moroccan mint

Egypt and Vietnam (green tea: Van Chan Co-operative, Yen Bai). Expertly blended for Canton in France.

The high-quality green tea that creates a softer blend is from ancient trees growing wild in the mountains of Vietnam. We blend this tea with Egyptian spearmint, peppermint and liquorice root for a deliciously moreish tea. The liquorice adds a natural sweetness, so there’s no need for sugar.

Ingredients: Spearmint, peppermint, green tea, liquorice.

flavour

Pouring Canton Moroccan Mint from a Jug into a GlassGreen tea and mint blends are traditionally drunk in Morocco throughout the day, often with sugar, for their zesty, refreshing flavour and gentle kick of energy.

We’ve added a touch of liquorice root to our blend to replace the need for sugar, adding natural sweetness and a warm, aromatic herbaceousness.

Mint is widely recognised to ease digestion, making it a great drink after a meal. Wild tea is also thought to have significantly higher polyphenol content than cultivated tea.

 origin

Woman Tending to Tea Leaves in a Lush Green FieldThe wild green tea is harvested by the Van Chan Co-operative in Yen Bai Province, North Vietnam. All their teas are picked from bushes growing wild in the rainforests and mountains of the region – no cultivation is involved.

Established in the early 2000s, the co-operative was established to provide the H‘mong and Dao people of the region an alternative livelihood to poppy flower production for opium. Sustainable prices and fairtrade premiums have enabled villages to build houses, schools and to install electricity.
