canton silver needle
Jinggu, Yunnan Province, China.
Silver Needle is beautiful as it’s made only from tender, young, silvery leaf buds, which are withered in the sun. This tea is chosen from a small batch grown on Jinggu Mountain in Yunnan Province in China and has a full-bodied flavour for a white tea. The buds are large, plump, succulent and irresistible.

flavour
Silver Needle (or Yin Zhen) is perhaps the most famous white tea. Made exclusively from soft, furled, immature tea buds, it produces a very pale yellow/green liquor with a light and delicate flavour. Our Silver Needle is sweet and soft with quite a full-bodied and succulent mouthfeel for a white tea. Look for notes of dried apricot and honeydew melon.
origin
While Zhenhe and Fuding in Fujian Province are the main production areas of white tea in China, there are some fantastic artisan white teas coming out of Yunnan and Guangxi Province. Canton Silver Needle is a sensational small-batch white tea from Jinggu Mountain in Yunnan.
Farmer Liang Xu and his team only use tender, young silvery leaf buds from tea bushes, which are then carefully laid out and naturally dried in the sun. White tea is the least processed of any tea types, and as such is often associated with the most health benefits. These include powerful antioxidant content, immune support and skin, hair and teeth health.
