A stunning black tea from Wang Family Tea, a family company that’s been growing tea in Taiwan for generations. The high grade leaves are harvested from a native Taiwanese cultivar in the high mountain Shanlin Xi tea growing area in Zhushan. Surrounded by a highly biodiverse wild bamboo forest, their teas offer exceptional terroir and truly beautiful flavour. Look for deep, complex notes of fig and cocoa.

step 1:  leaves


For one cup, measure out 4 grams into your teapot or brew mug.

 

step 2: water


Heat 250ml of water to 95°C.

 

step 3: time


Pour your heated water over the leaves and steep for 4 minutes.

Harvested in 2022, the black tea leaves are handpicked, withered, bruised and dried to bring out the complex flavour profiles in the leaf. The result is a beautifully balanced black tea with notes of fig and cocoa, that reflects the unique terroir of the high mountain, biodiverse tea garden.

The Wang Family Tea garden is nestled in the high mountain Shanlin Xi tea growing area and is surrounded by wild bamboo forest. The land was previously unused and home only to wild vegetation, which means the soil has never been exposed to chemical treatments of any kind.
